A slab of this gorgeous quartzite features a creamy background of off-white or soft white with pale gold and brown veining. It looks remarkably like marble, but is extremely durable. Rose Gold. White Lane Decor. The gold hardware accents in this kitchen design are intentionally placed to perfectly complement the bright white finishes. Instead of the typically yellow-gold, the hardware here is a coppery rose gold. The subdued color tone is a bit more relaxed and doesn't appear as brassy as traditional gold hardware.

It can be quite amazing to see how much gold can hide in a specimen; often times there are several ounces of gold in a chunk of ore, with only a tiny piece visible to the eye. It was easy for the old timers back in the early gold rush days to overlook, but a modern metal detector will allow us to "see" what other miners couldn't see.

A marble countertop slab is a continuous piece of stone that a miner excavates from a quarry. Quartz countertops are man-made from natural quartz minerals. The manufacturer forms the ground quarts into a slab by mixing in 5-10% resin or other polymers. The result is a hard slab of stone that looks very similar to marble.

Most quartz forms in either igneous rocks or environments with geothermal waters. In igneous rocks, quartz forms as magma cools. Like water turning into ice, silicon dioxide will crystallize as it cools. Slow cooling generally allows the crystals to grow larger. Quartz that grows from silica-rich water forms in a similar way.

Exposing quartz countertops to hot cookware could melt the resins and cause permanent discoloration and damage. White spotting and cloudiness are sure signs of heat damage.
