Matlapeng–(place of stone) is a 630 acre 'slice of heaven' located atop a rocky mountainous outcrop in the North West ‘bushveld’. Uninterrupted vistas of hills, valleys and the majestic Magaliesburg mountain range where we look out over Olifantsnek Dam, situated in the "Cradle of Humankind". The main lodge, ‘Mzilikazi Lounge’ functions as the centre of activity w/a fully equipped solar & gas kitchen. Large wooden decks & a stone stairway leads one onto the pool-deck, in which a Native American Medicine Wheel is incorporated in its design. Surrounded by lavender, jasmine, nasturtium & bougainvillea, this space is flanked by gardens & earthen paths leading to the Sweat Lodge & Labyrinth. GODWANA & MOKOPE – These wooden cabins on stilted platforms some eight feet off the ground, are entirely solar powered and feature a unique paraffin-driven shower. Wild bushveld cocoons this space whose North-Westerly direction offers breath-taking sunsets & a canopy of stars at night. KOKA & NUBIA – Wooden cabins on stilted platforms, all solar powered with a fully enclosed shower/bathroom. A game water-feature three metres from the deck of NUBIA. An ancient ancestral stone ruin can be found a mere twenty metres from these lodgings, which looks across a vast north-westerly mountainscape.Top
